Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Fempower is a non-profit organisation based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We are committed to handling the personal information you share with us honestly and carefully. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, and what rights you have.

What we collect

When you submit one of our application or inquiry forms, we collect only what you type in — for example:

  • Your name, email address, and role or title
  • The name and location of your school or organisation
  • The type of partnership or support you are seeking
  • A message or notes you choose to include
  • For competition entries: teacher contact details, team size, year group, and a document share link you provide
  • For donation interest: your preferred giving amount and donation type

We do not collect payment card details. We do not use tracking cookies. We do not use analytics services that identify you personally.

Why we collect it

We collect your information solely to respond to your inquiry or application. Specifically:

  • Partner inquiries: to review fit and invite a short introductory call if there is one
  • School requests: to connect you with the right resources or programme pathway
  • Competition entries: to register your team for the next competition cohort and send confirmation
  • Donation interest: to reach out with secure payment instructions and a tax receipt where applicable

How submissions are processed

Our forms are processed through Web3Forms, a third-party form submission service. When you submit a form, Web3Forms sends the field data to Fempower's designated inbox email address. Web3Forms does not store your submission permanently on their servers beyond the time needed for delivery. You can read their privacy terms at web3forms.com/privacy.

Once delivered, your submission is stored in Fempower's email inbox. Only the Fempower team has access to that inbox.

Who sees your data

Your submission is seen only by the Fempower team. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with any third party, advertiser, or data broker. Ever.

Children's data & safeguarding

Fempower works with school-age girls, so we treat any information relating to students with particular care:

  • We do not collect personal information directly from students. Competition entries are submitted by a teacher or school staff member, who confirms that the school approves the team's participation.
  • We collect only what is needed to run the programme — for example school name, team size, and year group — and we do not ask for students' individual contact details.
  • We rely on the school or teacher to obtain any parental or guardian consent required under their own policies before submitting a student's details.
  • We communicate through the school or teacher contact, not with students directly.
  • We never publish a student's personal details, and only the Fempower team can access entries.

A parent, guardian, or school can ask us to correct or delete a student's information at any time using the contact channel above, and we will action it promptly.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for as long as necessary to respond and maintain records of our partnerships and programme participants. If your inquiry does not lead to an active relationship, we delete the record within 12 months.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information

To exercise any of these rights, message us on Instagram at @fempower.ea or call +255 673 710 199 with the words “Data request,” and we will respond within 14 days.
